Japanese Voice Actor

Maxi's Japanese voice actor has been the same for all three games - Kanna Nobutoshi. For all intents and purposes you could consider this voice Maxi's 'real' voice; he is basically Japanese, after all (although RyuKyu Islanders did have blood from other nearby cultures... but I'm just being picky). The guy does the role very well, and the more I hear it the more I like it!

Kanna Nobutoshi has done Japanese voices in many other games (a notable one being Knuckles in Sonic Battle) and also in several animes (including Tasuki in Fushugi Yugi, Kabuto Yakushi in Naruto and Chris Brown in Dragon Quest).

SC2 English Voice Actor

Doug Boyd did Maxi's English voice in Soul Calibur 2. I'm not particularly fond of his voice acting, but then again I'm not too fond of most of the Soul Calibur 2 voice acting. It has grown on me a bit, but still... a bit too posh to suit our Maxi!

SC3 English Voice Actor

Steve Van Wormer replaced Doug Boyd as Maxi's voice actor in Soul Calibur 3. This is more like it! He has a wonderful, husky voice that suits Maxi to the core. The voice suits him much better! The actual actor does mostly minor roles in various movies. He's pretty cute... heh, sorry!
